THE SOFTEST ALMOND-HELIOTROPE DAYDREAM
It's a really beautiful powdery-sweet concoction with prominent iris, heliotrope, and nutty notes resting on a sweet ambery base. It opens like a soft powdery iris cloud, cosmetic, lipsticky, and a little like fine face powder. The almond comes through as a marzipan-like sweetness with subtle cherry undertones, which I love, so naturally I was hooked from the first spray. As it sits on the skin, it becomes sweeter and sweeter, with this airy sweetness floating over the powder. There’s also a gentle leathery note, very soft. The opening is refined, delicious, and comforting, reminding me of Cuir Béluga Eau de Parfum and Café Chantant Eau de Parfum.
As time goes by and the perfume settles, it starts to smell like sweet, warm, vanillic almonds. Unfortunately, the performance is not the strongest on me. It stays close to the skin. So, I’ll probably stick to Café Chantant Eau de Parfum, Dior Homme Parfum (2014), and other similar fragrances... Still, the scent itself is beautiful, especially the opening.
