A few weeks ago, when I was still a few euros short of free shipping at my trusted online perfumery, I decided to go through my wishlist - "surely there will be something good to find," I thought.
My eyes immediately fell on Cuba Gold.
Inexpensive, good reviews - so I added it to the cart.
When the package arrived a few days later, I unpacked the other fragrances first, as I certainly didn't have extremely high expectations for Cuba Gold - also due to the price.
When it was finally my turn to try it, the first surprise hit me: The bottle doesn't feel cheap at all.
I also really like the shape. It is inspired by the Cuban cigarillos for which the island south of Florida is so famous (tobacco is, after sugar, the second largest export product of the small country).
I liked the scent of Cuba Gold right away. It is spicy but not too aggressive, masculine, and there is also a certain sweetness that I perceive.
The longevity is surprisingly high; I experience it for about 7 hours. The sillage, on the other hand, is rather weak; it stays very close to the skin.
Overall, Cuba Gold is, as mentioned, a price-performance king for me. It's just a great grab-and-go scent for weekend shopping, but I also like to wear it at the gym.
