A Rose is a Rose, unless it's Rose Geranium
Czech & Speake ROSE cologne is a pleasant blend of floral notes with rose and geranium as the most dominant. I initially thought that this was going to be a version of rose water, but it is quite a bit more complex, although it lives up to its name by highlighting the rose and the rose geranium. I do believe that I detect a touch of patchouli, mimosa, and ylang, but they are very subtle and well-blended and serve to complement the focal rose rather than calling attention to themselves.
This composition is very natural smelling and seems to me to be of equal quality to the Jo Malone colognes. I find this Czech & Speake cologne to have bigger sillage and better longevity than most colognes, and I am glad that I decided to explore this line. They have an excellent sample program, with attractive carded samples available online for a modest price.
