2. not necessarily the worst at the casting
From a certain level of popularity, fragrances appear under the names of stars and celebrities. This brings even more popularity, but also more money.
David Bisbal, today probably the most famous and beloved singer in Spain, is known far beyond Spain's borders, reaching the USA and of course Latin America. In 2001, at the age of 22, he won second place in the Spanish casting show and quite literally made the best of it. His music is very loved and catchy, he has sung various film scores, and his concerts are always sold out in no time.
Today he is 44 and has almost achieved everything.
So it was somehow obvious to emphasize and solidify his popularity. Since 2006, a few fragrances have been released under the name David Bisbal. The first fragrance "Pura Essencia" in 2006 came in both masculine and feminine variants, followed by "DB Black Man" and "DB Rose Woman" in 2008 - also in both variants, 2010 saw the release of Sin Mirar Atrás (Without looking back) exclusively as a masculine fragrance, and finally in 2017 "davidbisbal Man" and "davidbisbal Woman".
The latter is the subject of my fragrance review. A round cardboard box with a metal lid and bottom, of course featuring David Bisbal's likeness - a nod to the name of the fragrances. Inside is a white-coated glass bottle with the inscription davidbisbal Woman Eau de Toilette. The bottle is quite large and holds 150ml of EdT.
The fragrance itself is sweet; I can clearly perceive the fruity plum note and the fine saffron note in the opening. The powderiness of the iris only reveals itself later, when beautiful fine floral notes join in and the sweetness - which at the beginning is quite extreme for my taste - thankfully diminishes. Jasmine and rose are mentioned, but there could also be other flowers.
The longevity is really good, and the projection is a bit loud at first, then quite close to the skin. As it develops, a very subtle animalic note becomes perceptible, but it is very restrained and pleasant, supporting the floral effect.
I must admit, my first attempt at this fragrance was not very pleasant, and I washed it off right after spraying because it was too sweet for me. However, as mentioned, the sweetness reduces to a minimum over time, and the fragrance then becomes very creamy, soft, very close to the skin, and pleasant.
I personally probably won't wear it, as I no longer have the youthful age required for it. Nevertheless, I must concede that the buyer here gets more than expected for their money.
I love David Bisbal and his music very much, can sing along to many of his songs, and I wish him many more years of success and a healthy life full of love and happiness.
