The Anti-Aquat, out of this time
Davidoff. Each of us automatically associates this with Cool Water. Something fresh, aquatic, always been there. So if you were to test this fragrance with your eyes closed and hadn't heard anything about it beforehand, none of us would guess that this scent comes from Davidoff.
To get straight to the point: This fragrance has enormous longevity and sillage. Just as one would hope, and something that is actually hard to find in 2015. Moreover, it is once again a fragrance where you can perceive a real scent development over hours. You can actually recognize the individual top, heart, and base notes. Just as one would hope, and something that is actually hard to find in 2015.
Now to the scent itself: The top note is definitely too smoky for me. I don't know what the combination of saffron and pepper smells like, but it's not really my thing. As mentioned, it also lasts.
BUT, perseverance is rewarded. The fragrance develops after two to three hours and becomes really good. Sweet, but not too sweet. A nice woody note joins in. Great. As mentioned, it lasts.
Some of my predecessors already asked the question of whether this is actually a leather fragrance. Don't expect Tuscan Leather or La Yugawam here. I would rather describe it as a fragrance where one would associate leather from the individual components in its overall conception. It could also be called Oud Blend or Wood Blend.
All in all, a really good woody-spicy fragrance with leather undertones. A longevity and sillage that one would hardly believe possible nowadays. The bottle is also very beautiful.
The best Davidoff of this millennium. It would be a real shame if it were taken off the market again. It's already not available everywhere.

I received the scent as a sample with a perfume and just tested it; it totally blew me away. I would never have tried a Davidoff fragrance on my own; this one is a real surprise. Your comment is spot on!

Hmm, I also find it way too sweet. Although the opening smells quite nice.

Davidoff - well, I associate it with Zino. But Cool Water was also well-known, okay.
