Vintage: Sometimes it takes several attempts

I am describing a vintage batch with the old, beautifully curved Davidoff font:

Davidoff released several smash hits in the 80s / 90s and was rightly one of the most popular fragrance brands of the time. If someone had said back then that this brand would mutate into one of the saddest ruined classic brands, no one would have believed it. In the past, they came up with something for almost every fragrance and flankers were a rarity. Today it's exactly the opposite, one flanker after the other and almost every one worse than the last.

The bottle is particularly impressive due to its almost magical green color. It is handy and discreetly designed, the sprayer is very good.

While I loved the fragrances Zino Eau de Toilette and Cool Water Eau de Toilette right from the start, I needed several attempts with this one. This was probably due to the fact that I still have a hard time with green fragrances from that time, especially if they have something "animalic" in them. Here, the "green" was at least a little more restrained in comparison.

For me, it starts with a note that makes me think directly of urine and this is also the case with the last available batches that I compared. Fortunately, this note fades into the background after a while and is replaced by a unique herbal wonder that I have never smelled before in any other fragrance. The moss gives it some freshness, but it's also a little sweet, which makes it more wearable for me in spring or fall.

The longevity and sillage are good!

Even though I still have to "torture" myself a bit with this initial note, my nose is rewarded with a unique fragrance that is worth it. For me, this is the last really good Davidoff fragrance, as I unfortunately no longer like its successor Good Life for Men Eau de Toilette, even in the old version.

Yes, this fragrance was rather neglected at the time. However, I was never able to establish a real connection with this fragrance. Just like Background by Jil Sander. They are similar. Both are priceless today

I used to have the background, but sold it again :)
