King of the shoulder pads
Growing up as a teenager in the 80s I know how broad shoulders can be if you get help from pads. Claude Montana taught me. Listening to music by Duran Duran and Grace Jones and looking at pictures and posters at that time convinced me that this was the cool way to look. Watching 'Dynasty' on TV made me even more assured. The trend was kick started by Vivenne Westwood and Claude Montana. Do not hesitate to dive into the history of one of the Power Designers of the 80s - you will not be disapointed.
In 1986 he released his to die for 'Parfum de Peau'. I saw the ads and decided that one day I had to have this, simply for the gorgeous bottle. The juice is also amazing. When I saw 'Claude Montana' I knew that I had to have that too. The bottle again is something else and the fragrance is far more wearable considering today's standards. I love the heart the most. It becomes quite clear after 15 minutes, and it has a gorgeous mix of rose and wood. The duration of the fragrance is not the best I have experienced, though. It is totally gone after 4-5 hours, which I find a bit too swift.

Relaxed fragrance in a futuristic bottle
During our vacation in the Sauerland, we also made a detour to Paderborn. The primary goal was the Heinz Nixdorf Museumsforum. Afterwards, a city stroll was on the agenda. Of course, we also discovered the TK-M...... branch there and decided to take a look.

At first glance, the fragrance corner didn't offer anything interesting. I stumbled upon the only bottle from Claude Montana by chance, and at the affordable price, I didn't hesitate long and took it with me.

Some time ago, I had already tested the fragrance, so it wasn't a blind purchase.

I was already familiar with the bottle design. The second "women's fragrance" from Montana was released in this futuristically shaped bottle back then. However, the current fragrance has nothing in common with the former Parfum d' Elle.

Claude Montana is a fine and relaxed fragrance, in my opinion. Although it remains quite understated, it has very good longevity. On my skin, it easily lasts 12 hours.

The defining note is a fine mix of sandalwood and cedarwood. The floral components always resonate subtly. For me, the rose comes through the most here. The peach in the opening is also processed only subtly, giving the fragrance a delicate fruity aroma.

The base notes make sense, but they don't really come through clearly to my nose. They only add a subtle sweetness to the fragrance, and the musk provides additional creaminess.

Claude Montana is for me a fragrance to make myself comfortable on the couch during dreary weather or when I want to smell unpretentiously.

Finally, I would like to say a few words about the designer Claude Montana.

He was one of the most influential fashion designers in the early 80s. His designs were characterized by broad shoulders, narrow waists, and lavish collars. He was also referred to as the architect of fashion. His early bottle designs reinforced this image.

With the rising minimalism of the 90s, he lost more and more significance, and by the early 2000s, he completely withdrew from the fashion business.

By the way, there is also a rose named after him.

Mysterious Time Travel...
...into the 1970s. Or into the "Belle Epoque" era. Alternating - sometimes here - sometimes there. Waxen skin that was considered chic. Tanned sun worshippers. Secrets of two epochs that could not be more different. Attempts at explanation may remain incomplete for some readers....
The peach opening with citrus fruits and jasmine clearly points to the early 20th century. "Modest and proper" in long dresses, often in corsets - Sunday strollers with stiff bow ties at the white shirt collar along with described ladies.
Slowly the image changes - no "flash" within seconds - but overlapping layers leading into the 1970s - the same couple, in the same place - just completely different clothing. Further Indian look, paisley patterns - the modest knot unraveled into flowing long hair - here she comes, he in worn jeans and colorful Indian shirt, the short, precisely cut hairstyle giving way to chin-length curls. Smelling of sandalwood, patchouli, and "hippie rose" soaked in cedar oil.
Sometimes, however, it seems to experience a kind of strange "image disturbance," like in double-exposed videos. Flickering between the times. The long, tight corset dress sways over the wide Indian look... The stiff bow tie stands out on the collar of the casual 70s man.
Eccentric mixed music of Viennese waltz and hard rock accompanies the scene.
Cut - new image - unification. Olfactorily through ambered musk notes - visually through a man in a white shirt - bow tie and worn jeans - a lady with a strict knot, Indian dress with corset... strange - ??
But that is what this fragrance tells me, which fits half and half into both times...

suddenly and completely unexpectedly
What do you call it? Coup de foudre?
Yet it is just "White Peach meets Jasmine": But, wow! What a combination!
I never would have thought it could excite me so much.

I only discovered the fragrances of Claude Montana quite late and for some unknown reason declined the offer to receive a bottle of this scent as a gift.
Perhaps it was also the feeling of not wanting to completely deplete the lovely Parfuma, who always generously gifted me many bottles. I did quite shamelessly fall upon her folder "Perfumes can go (or similar)"
(I feel a bit ashamed about that!)

After my somewhat disappointing experiences with "Parfum de Peau" (how I longed for a test of this creation), I also kept a bit reserved until I asked for a sample of Claude Montana's eponymous fragrance.

But since the first contact, I have really become a bit infatuated with this nose-, skin-, and soul-pleaser.
The thought of expanding my already quite extensive collection with one of these very unique bottles grew with each application.
After all, I am here teetering from "desire to enjoyment .."
(Of course, I must once again invoke Mr. Geheimrat Goethe.)

What a fragrance experience: More enticing with each passing moment!
White, ripe, velvety-skinned, fruity, and aromatic peach nestles into a bed of numerous jasmine petals, radiating its well-being generously!
And I suddenly have the antennas to catch this radiance and this time am only slightly disturbed by the constant presence of bergamot.
(It doesn't really disturb, but once I fixate on something, I react a bit addictively like Niki de Saint Phalle with her "shooting pictures" (Tirs)!)
The rich, ripe rose aromas that now develop are pampered by sandalwood and cedar, becoming silkier, creamier, and more animalistic. Wow!
Nothing beats a well-groomed hint of eroticism in a fragrance composition!
And this is ultimately ensured by the components of the base note:
Amber and white, cuddly musk foam flirt quite unabashedly with the sweetness of tonka bean and a hefty, yet distinctly seductive portion of spicy galbanum.
Even on my very cool skin, a kind of "L’Elixir d’Amore" develops.

I am thrilled and once again experience: "Unexpectedly often comes!"
Too many clichés! Sorry! I notice it myself!
But "Claude Montana" as a fragrance has caught me completely off guard!
That's how I feel when I am completely surprised by something I didn't expect.
After all, it was only my constantly alert curiosity that led me to test "Claude Montana".
And now this!

Warm, delicate, uncompromising femininity
Claude Montana embodies for me a warm, nurturing, receptive, self-assured, and mysterious femininity that today almost resembles a kind of myth or deity from a long-gone era. A woman who needs to prove nothing, only to be. Yet the longing for her seems great, as one can see how she is often only sought after or imitated. In countless videos, tutorials, and coaching sessions, one is taught how femininity works.

The warmth is rooted in the woods and balsams that hold the floral notes in dignified balance. This gives the perfume its understated and stylish elegance. No staging, no childish play, but a woman who naturally embraces her sensual, wild, delicate, and at the same time royal femininity.
Like expensive peach body lotion on luxurious skin, enveloped in silk and the finest stockings.

A scent like the golden light and deep shadows of sensual 90s photoshoots. Those images that I love to look at, where women gazed into the camera with a raw, surrendering look. Delicate and vulnerable, yet therein lay their strength. It takes courage and inner strength to share such a vulnerable part of one's soul with the world. This form of strength and vulnerability cannot be faked - it comes from within. Claude Montana reminds me exactly of the shoots and images from that time.
Of the unfinished, the unfiltered. I often search for a kind of truth in these expressions on the faces of these beautiful women. Claude Montana brings me a little closer to that.

Smelled nice on the blotter but it doesn't mix well at all with my own chemistry. Turned sour. Had to wash 3x in order to get the scent out.

Although it's not my usual style, it's nice. The peach is subtle, the floral note is embedded in a woody-creamy base, and the sweetness is moderate.

I bought the fragrance blind. What can I say, the first spray and I was enchanted. Light, powdery, comforting.
