My boyfriend inadvertently got dragged into my perfume journey and has slowly become a bit more interested. Passively curious at first (willing to buy a perfume if he stumbled upon one he liked, but not actively searching for one), he became a bit more open to trying some out for his sake. We realized early on he isn't a woody, spicy lover (those notes seem to be staples in men's perfume) and he gravitates more towards citrusy and unisex perfumes. I might have influenced him a bit since I tend to steer clear of woody and spicy perfumes (I also have a few unisex perfumes in my collection).
I know this perfume is marketed towards men, but as we all know, perfume is non-gendered. So when I was out with my boyfriend testing perfumes for him at Sephora and we stumbled upon this one, I immediately knew I wanted to try it out on my own skin. There's a strong blast of alcohol at the beginning, but everything subsides quite quickly and the citrus appears. Such a nice refreshing, energizing citrus scent, reminiscent of a tart and tangy lemonade. A perfect warm weather staple for a man, but also for women. Grapefruit rises quite quickly to take the center stage. There's a slight tinge of white floral that you can smell in the background, but nothing that gets too feminine. The rest of the perfume is pretty linear, where the grapefruit is the star and the bergamot acts as support. Musk comes later on, but it's a pretty crisp, clean musk (made me think of a white linen man's shirt). I want to reiterate that although my boyfriend has bought it for himself, I could also wear it. It's such a beautiful citrusy scent that could belong in anyone's collection for the warm weather.
The bottle is simple, yet quite elegant, as all Dior bottles are. The only thing I question a bit is the dip-tube. It's an opaque white tube that clearly stands out in the transparent liquid and I'm wondering if design wise, it would've been prettier being smaller and transparent.
