You know that feeling when some smells do not evoke memories of anything you've experienced earlier ?? That makes it really hard to describe... but hey, the opening can be described in three words : soapy pear brandy. That's right. Not very boozy, but that is the general feeling. I'm quite sure the fig is the note that gives me resemblance of pear. Powdery and warm, sweet and yet spicy, this smell is fresh, original and very unique IMO, as I don't recall any other perfumes like this - a summer oriental maybe?? Somehow casual, but in a classy way if that makes any sense.
Opening with the figgy/pear vibes dominating, flanked by spices like sage'n'basil and ending in a cedarlike sandalwood base with hints of vanilla. Feels quite synthetic in some ways, as if a truckload of notes were put in a big bowl, but remarkably the smell that you pour out blends together really well - respects to Monsieur Cresp for this bold move.
Not sure what time of year this is most fitting, but you can definitely rock it on any spring or summer day. It's not exactly my style, but very interesting. Used to have a batch from 2008 produced in France and longevity was just fine.
