Good Vintage without Animalic Notes

Right after spraying, I thought I recognized the scent from somewhere. The top note smells sweet, dry, and slightly floral; I found the sillage to be rather medium. The scent reminded me of lilac. After a while, I could distinctly smell vetiver. From the start, I would give this at least an 8.
The heart note was disappointing for me, as I kept thinking of a hairspray from my childhood; all the scents suddenly seemed mixed together. For this, I would only give 7 points.
However, the drydown was significantly better: at first, I noticed a scent direction similar to "Polo," then something woody and spicy. The gentle drydown indulges with a smoky-mossy scent. For this, I would even award 8.5 points. I couldn't detect any of the animalic notes that were rated below at all.
Since the vintage scent "Polo" was one of the first perfumes I discovered and I enjoy wearing it, I have to use it as a benchmark in the vintage competition. Of course, the ratings are very subjective, and everyone will surely evaluate the scent impressions differently based on their memories and preferences. However, I only give "Jules" 8 points due to the heart note. I'm already looking forward to testing the other perfumes from the 70s and 80s in the coming days.
