Miss Dior Dior 2017 Eau de Parfum

Recently, I quickly popped into Douglas on my way home and aimlessly strolled along the shelves, bored. I know it all, almost everything is silly… But I definitely wanted to spray something for the ride back, so I grabbed Miss Dior, thinking it was actually nothing special, and off to the parking lot. And it stuck to my wrist the whole drive. Must have looked strange…

This new 2017 version is getting a lot of criticism. I know the 2012 Miss and several others, and unfortunately, none of them were anything for me. I found almost all of them a bit too intrusive with a sharp note. That's why I always left the new version aside. But what wafted from my wrist to my nose was love at first sniff! And I bought the often-maligned Miss the very next day.

The young lady opens sparkling and fresh with mandarin. But very quickly, the scent also becomes floral and warm. Miss Dior has a noble, wonderfully fragrant aura. Even later on, the scent remains warm and velvety, and while patchouli adds depth, it is not as dominant here as in the 2012 version. I also smell a bit of vanilla.

This Miss is sweeter, yes, but I find the sweetness here to be just right, not too much at all. For me, this Miss is much softer, less chypre, and thus the first Miss of so many that I really like. I love her! I wouldn't have believed it myself. She is wearable around the clock for all occasions, except maybe in the height of summer.

I understand anyone who is upset and/or sad when their favorite scent is tinkered with. I feel the same way. I also don’t take kindly to my favorites being ruined. But: One person's pain can indeed be another's joy, in this case MY joy! I find this scent so much better now. So, for anyone like me who couldn’t get along with the other Miss Diors, perhaps this one will also become a new fragrance love!
