My Ultimate Dior Homme Test

I love Dior Homme and when I heard about a reformulation, I had some serious concerns. There was actually a fragrance in the regular price range that was different and well-made, and it was supposed to be over so soon after such a short time. But at first sniff, I couldn't detect a big difference.

How good it is that I have kept some older bottles. So I dug out the old Dior Homme bottle with the silver tube, and right next to it was the nearly empty Dior Homme Intense bottle, if we're doing it, let's do it right, and in front of me stood the "New" one with the dark tube.

Now let's get to it!

I put the last remnants of Dior Homme (old) on one hand, Dior Homme Intense on the other, and the "New" one in the crook of my arm.

The difference between the two Dior Homme versions is, thank God, not large. The old version is, in my opinion, a bit brighter, more radiant, and powdery. The new one, on the other hand, has been toned down a little, but only just a little. This could lead to an even higher acceptance among men. The scent now feels slightly more masculine. However, it is still unmistakably Dior Homme, and that's a good thing!

The new version is definitely less intense than the original. The original was already a powder bomb for a men's Eau de Toilette. The new version is toned down. You can't overdo it as easily anymore.

I'm curious about your spray dosage because I feel like I can hardly notice the scent unless I'm smelling it directly on my skin. Compared to other EDTs, I need to use double the amount to achieve a decent sillage.

Great comment! I completely agree with you, but I have to admit that I like both equally ;)

It seems to me too, less powder, less cool iris, darker, more masculine. Maybe they did it so it wouldn't be too feminine for men. Still a very beautiful scent, but it's a shame nonetheless.
