My most coveted fig scent

I’m intrigued to see how many here have actually tested this fragrance on their skin for more than 5 minutes before they ran here to write a review. (If you check the reviews for that *other* fragrance site, you’ll see what I’m talking about).

Please do not let the bad reviews make you think twice about this fragrance. For anyone that is familiar with Francis Kurkdjian and his work, they know that FK know how to work a rose note. Look at his own line of fragrances: Oud Satin Mood, A La Rose, Lumiere Noire, etc. This man knows how to make a damn good perfume and Dioriviera is a great showcasing of his talent as a perfumer. While this fragrance is fruity and green forward, the rose note in here really helps to balance the fragrance and keep it from being too sweet or too green. Here, the fig is green, but in a pleasant and almost aquatic way (as to the woody nuances it typically has) that makes it very easy to wear. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

Now for the performance, the longevity on this is excellent (as I expected from Dior), and the sillage is moderately good. This is a great fragrance for humid and hot weather because the moisture in the air actually help to carry the scent much better than if the air were drier. So idk about the people shitting on the performance. Again, maybe they tested it on themselves for a minute and then immediately wrote it off. Or maybe your skin was dry? I have no idea. I tested it on my skin at the Dior store, wore it around and smelled other fragrances, and this performed beautifully from just two or three sprays on my skin. It actually did a great job sticking itself onto me and I was impressed with that, even as I wore it all the way home from the store.

No, this doesn’t smell like another blah designer perfume (and even so, who cares lol. Take your niche snobbery somewhere else. Real fragheads know how to appreciate any and all kinds to scents). No, this doesn’t smell like Le Lebo The Matcha. This smells like a beautiful, watery, perfectly ripe but still green fig, with a touch of rose, done in the most minimalistic, fresh, and classy way. This is the scent of Dioriviera.

I will say I can’t pinpoint if this is feminine or masculine, but that’s why I encourage people to go and test things out for themselves. I fell in love with this fragrance from first sniff and I can’t wait for my bottle to come in so I can rock it throughout this hot, nasty, humid summer here in NYC.

Just got a full bottle of Dioriviera. Dior had great deals during this holidays. I got three 7.5 ml travel size samples of La Collection Privee and a 10 ml of Sauvage Eau Forte, plus a lipstick and compact mirror when I bought Dioriviera! All for $175. I am selling all these travel size bottles on Reddit to recoup some of the cost.
Have you tried Givenchy Trouble Fete? It is similar to Dioriviera, but jasmine is the floral note instead of rose. Also, Trouble Fete has other darker notes such as incense and sesame which makes it a little different in the base notes. Please try it if you haven't. I am always curious about how other folks perceive my favorites!

Thank you for the great review. I can sense your exasperation seeping through! 😀. Most of the reviews here and Fragrantica are written by those who had a cursory spray at a department store counter. I really like it, particularly for the longevity of the fig leaf accord (which typically fades quickly in other similar scents). Lovely rose too, but that doesn't surprise me as Kurkdjian is a master of rose.

The comments had me HEATED lol. But it truly is a gorgeous fragrance and just as you said, FK is quite the artiste when it comes to rose. Such a beautiful fresh fig and a touch of dewy rose. Outstanding performance too. Love love love!
