At one point, I owned both this one and the J'adore Eau de Parfum by mistake. When I started my journey into fragrances, I wasn't aware of flankers or what they were. When I tried the J'adore Parfum d'Eau as a sample that came with a Sephora purchase, I fell in love. I spotted a 50ml bottle of J'adore Eau de Parfum at a fragrance discount shop only to realize later the mistake I had made. Nonetheless, I have had both in my collection which has allowed me to compare the OG to its flanker.
Since this perfume is made without any alcohol, there’s no sharp sting when sprayed. The perfume in liquid form is a creamy white, almost like a milk lotion as it settles on your skin and leaves behind a beautiful scent. It's elegant, subtle and refined: florals are masterfully well-blended. I smell the jasmine: soft, slightly indolic with a delicate fruity facet. There’s the chinese magnolia and neroli who add creaminess and floral depth to the scent. It's absolutely stunning and feels so sophisticated, like a well put-together woman who knows who she is and what she wants in life. The white flowers and magnolia never veer off into the powdery territory nor too indolic on my skin. The scent is divinely balanced: the flowers all share the spotlight as equals!
Since I've had the occasion of testing out the OG and the flanker, I can say this one is a bit lighter. I think it has been created specifically for the younger crowd (25-30 years old). Due to its creamy aspect, it can also be pulled off during colder months, but is a great choice for warm weather. A nice flanker that manages to keep the original DNA while also innovating and branching off!
EDIT: After owning a bottle of Parfum d'Eau for awhile I was re-testing it to see how much I loved it and it seems to have changed a little bit with time. Might be due to the absence of alcohol in the composition of the fragrance, so beware. Because of this, I will unfortunately not be buying another bottle of it when I finish it.
