My heart and my wallet are bleeding..

I usually don’t write reviews here on Parfumo at all, but the new release from Dior has prompted me to do so. I rushed to my trusted perfumery even before the launch and absolutely wanted to test it, as Dior Sauvage is currently the most popular men’s fragrance on the market. I have already owned both the EdT and the EdP and wanted to include this third baby in my collection. I had my girlfriend in tow. We were able to test the perfume. And what can I say, I really liked the scent. My girlfriend liked it even more. That’s when the decision to buy was made, and I was as happy as a little child.

A few days later in the future.
Unfortunately, I have to say that the performance of the perfume is really, really devastatingly poor. The scent has no sillage, meaning it sits very close to the skin, and no matter how much of the perfume you apply, another person can only smell it if you were to become intimate with that person and they were to sniff directly at your neck. No exaggeration. You yourself can no longer perceive the scent after a short time. At least that’s how it is on my skin.
Since this version is the perfume and is supposed to be the strongest version, I am even more disappointed. This version has nothing to do with its predecessors when it comes to performance.
The predecessors are both very strong and have an impressive sillage for being fresh scents. The scent itself is really good, I must say. In my opinion, it’s the best of the 3 Sauvages.
But considering the price and how poorly this perfume performs, I am truly disappointed and wish I could return this scent. Such a shame, I was really looking forward to it.

A longevity of 5 and a sillage of 1 must be a mistake; this stuff lasts like crazy for me! Sure, it’s not as loud as the EDT, but a 1? Really???

Phew, thankfully not Jeremy :D
Okay, that really sounds like I need to test it more closely. It could be that it fades quickly but lasts close to the skin for a long time. Most new edP/perfume versions tend to do that. I have to say, I’m sticking with the edT, as the metallic note is the best for me. I also think that the new reformulations improved the edT (just a guess).

Regarding the sillage, I had to write a new response because I ran out of characters. I also had my brother test the perfume. He reported exactly the same thing as I did. Additionally, I couldn't perceive it from up close.

I checked on YouTube to see if others had the same experience. One of my favorite "perfume reviewers" says the same thing.

Thank you for the quick feedback. About the scent itself: I find that you quickly notice the mandarin when you spray it. That "metallic" note that the EdT has is now gone. It's a darker and deeper version of Sauvage. I really like it. The sandalwood makes the perfume quickly powdery. I have to say I really like the scent. It's long-lasting, but not necessarily better than the EdT and EdP.

You're only referring to the longevity in your comment. What about the scent itself? On me, it lasts really well, and its overall performance is great too. So, it might be a question of personal perception ;)
