Tam Dao is about a cedarwood note lasting for the whole fragrance, it has an undertone of myrtle which gives it brightness without any camphorous side. The type of cedarwood note resembles virginian cedarwood (pencil sharpening waste) and has a green facet of cypress too. I think the sandalwood is actually minimal and for me the drydown is powdery although rounded too. In some ways it dries down similarly to how Jasmagonda 23.1 by PG does.
