Precious soap with depth

"Masculine, mature, well-shaven, well-groomed appearance." These would probably be the first words that come to mind when I think of this fragrance. In my opinion, Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme (2012) Eau de Toilette is a perfume that is both classic and timeless. It exudes a tasteful, masculine presence that makes you smell it without being overpowering.
The opening is heralded by fresh, spicy notes with a high-quality, soapy feel. Citrus notes flash out, accompanied by the herbal components of lavender and sage. I suspect that the aforementioned soapy impression is largely due to this combination. Fortunately, it doesn't make me think of grandma's old bar of curd soap on the edge of the washbasin. Instead, it gives me well-groomed vibes that are perfectly suited to a man over 30. The fact that the fragrance doesn't remain too superficial overall is thanks to the tobacco in the base, which underpins a pleasant aroma and thus creates a nice bed for the head and heart. The fragrance skillfully balances on the threshold between sweet and tart: the tonka bean does not interfere unduly, but simply keeps the balance.
The bottom line for me is that this is a fragrance profile that is convincing without being overly gimmicky, works well as a daily driver and is hardly affected by the seasons. Only for winter would it need more warmth and body, and for a cozy, intimate atmosphere I miss the seductive aspect. But otherwise an easy grab, almost like a L'Homme.
The performance is perfectly fine for the price and there is always the option of spraying on clothes and hair.
So if you're not looking for the latest avant-garde fragrance, I can only recommend this perfume to you.
