Velvet Desert Oud Dolce & Gabbana 2013 Eau de Parfum

With Dolce & Gabbana, I don't really have a good track record ... and I must say ... this fragrance surprised me more than positively, even though I don't usually get along well with too much incense or oud.

Now I guess I'm the first to write a comment about Velvet Desert Oud.
So come along with me on this oriental journey :)

About the fragrance:
In the opening, the incense is immediately present. But so beautifully ... I have never experienced such a lovely incense before. Sweet-soft ... delicately floral undertones.
A warm amber note joins this dreamy incense. Slightly spicy ... comforting.
If oud is supposed to be in there, then it is also wonderfully delicate and smooth. Gradually, the fragrance takes on woody tones. It now also feels balsamic.
The transitions from heart, head, and base are fluid and hard to put into words.
In the base, everything comes together into an oriental masterpiece.
Amber, woody tones, and the still present incense fall into a soft musk bed.
I perceive Velvet Desert Oud as a dry, warm, balsamic, and also sweet fragrance with oriental notes.
Enchanting ... so soft ... so flowing ... a wonderful creation!
Unisex? hm... I find the fragrance very feminine. The gentlemen will have to test it themselves :)
The longevity is a good 8 hours ... a delicate fragrance aura surrounds me ... Velvet Desert Oud is never too loud or overwhelming.
This beautiful fragrance is certainly wearable at any time. A noble companion for many occasions.
The bottle looks simple yet very elegant.

Conclusion:
Mystical Orient!
Incense/oud is enchanting here ... dry, warm, and sweet the fragrance.
Soft amber-musk bed!

Pssst ... testing recommendation ... even for incense skeptics, Velvet Desert Oud is worth a try.
Whether there is really oud in it ... I wouldn't want to bet my hand on it ... woody tones? yes! Oud? maybe :)
