Beautiful scent, but a bit faint

She Wood was again one of those "spontaneously bought unknowns," the price for the set with 30 ml EDP, BL, and DG was just so cheap. Bargains are always so tempting. So I quickly read the comments here, then pressed the "Buy" button.

Despite the neroli and lemon in the top notes, She Wood doesn't start off very citrusy, rather creamy and subtly spicy. Perhaps it's the jasmine, which I don't always get along with, that suppresses the citrus note and adds to the creaminess. After a while, it becomes sweetish due to the heliotrope, but in a well-measured way. Wood comes in too, also rather restrained; I had expected more wood from the name, but for me, the flowers take the lead here. She Wood lasts just under four hours, then I need to reapply. The sillage is rather discreet; I would classify the scent as unisex, a floral fragrance with a light woody note, ideal in spring and autumn. A nice, but somewhat faint daytime scent for many occasions. And the bottle, well, like everything, it's a matter of taste, is quite handy.

By the way, the quality of the body lotion tube made of some kind of "hard plastic" is more than mediocre. First, the plastic cap doesn't open, then the neck completely breaks off and the lotion splatters on the floor and the cabinet, great. And I wasn't using brute force, even though one might sometimes think I would; my second name is impatience. That was it for the body lotion. Let's see how I can open the shower gel.

Haha, one application to the closet, please! I have Velvet Forest. Liked it right away. But no repurchase, not enough sophistication.

@Precious - well, that just shows how the average is. Let's not kid ourselves. Have you ever seen when driving, two lanes side by side, and the cars in the back line up? On the full or empty lane, you wouldn't believe it.

I also think that the jasmine really softens the citrus notes here and adds creaminess. By now, I'm quite comfortable with jasmine, and you should be able to handle it in all woody scents.

Try it again in the summer - in my opinion, that's the only right season for this fragrance. It only reveals its full potential in warmth.

Funny how you describe this pale daytime scent. It's more of a nice, subtle fragrance. I'm surprised that 76 people on Parfumo own this scent. Good comment.

I really liked it, but well... I'm already pale myself :).

I'm already pale enough, I don't need a scent like that.

Arrgh no, of all the ones, the pink one is my least favorite of the woodys... try the yellow one instead.

That should also make it clear why the stuff (meaning BL and DG) is sold so cheaply in the set;-) Nice, amusing comment :-)

I call such fragrances dinner scents because they don't interfere during a meal. :)

Thanks for the informative comment. I’ll think it over. Contemplation trophy.

I didn't think the scent was bad either, but it’s way too weak and the longevity is well below average... A trophy for clumsy people! ;)

I liked it quite a bit, but it was too subtle for me and faded away too quickly.

I felt the same way. The scent is great, almost wishlist-worthy - but the sillage is zero and the longevity is about 2 hours for me = nope.

I think the Woods all kind of resemble each other and don’t offer much in terms of surprises. I find the quality of the scents to be pretty decent most of the time. Good luck with the body lotion ;-)

Dsquared doesn't get a chance from me anymore. The image and presentation are quite good, but the result is just mediocre.

The "Wood" line (men's fragrances) hasn't impressed me much so far. Nothing special there. Good luck with the shower gel :-)

Carefully cut it open with scissors from the back! If it's too tough, drill a hole in it.
