She Wood Velvet Forest Wood Dsquared² 2009

Yes, I confess, I am easily brought to tears… When I hear a great song that I didn't know before, it can happen that I get teary-eyed. Or of course with movies like "The Last Unicorn" :-). But with perfumes? No, that has never happened to me - until today! Surprise!

I ordered it blind, only fueled by your comments, and received it this morning along with Chrystal Creek Wood. The expectation was high, but I didn't expect it to be surpassed so much! First, a spritz of Velvet Forest Wood on my arm and truly - I could have cried tears of joy! As mentioned in another comment, I am a big fan of Lacoste Land, which unfortunately has been discontinued, but I managed to get it again thanks to eBay. Now I am sniffing like enchanted and smelling the female counterpart - I am delighted, in love, and I probably have little hearts in my watery eyes…

This one doesn’t start as citrusy-bitter as the Lacoste, rather green-bitter and slightly balsamic due to the galbanum. Shortly after, I find myself in the woods (literally) and can hardly see the violets for all the trees. But yes, they are there, a bit shy and reserved, hiding behind the pines and peeking out curiously. They don't get bored either; it takes a while before they retreat and make way for the warm, earthy notes.

The scent envelops me like a cocoon, difficult to describe the sensations, but yes, I find it comforting and somehow protective as well. The longevity is very good even on my greedy skin, I perceive it for up to 6-7 hours. I will wear this always, no matter the temperature, because I think the sillage is not overwhelming. Luckily, I was able to snag a 100ml bottle at a good price, which I find visually very fitting with the wood and perfectly reflects the scent.

Adding it to my Endless Love list… I am thrilled! I love it!!
