The Door-to-Door Salesman
Yes, those are funny terms, people wandering from door to door, constantly holding door handles and thus living up to their reputation. It sounds a bit derogatory, but it’s not an insult.
How do I rate this scent? Certainly more as an office fragrance, quite fresh and spicy, somewhat citrusy, but due to the papyrus note, which is very pronounced and familiar to me from an earlier fragrance in my collection "Conditional pour Homme," it is somewhat more pleasant here. However, because of the slightly piercing papyrus that completely stands out, it is super suitable for these door-to-door salesmen. No matter what they offer, vacuum cleaners, their bags, or even insurance, even when they are gone, their scent still lingers in the house.
The opening is clearly bergamot, grapefruit, and a bit of bitter juniper. Angelica leaf, usually only found in men's fragrances, comes across very herbal and peppery, essentially reinforcing the direction we expect in the heart phase.
Right from the start, accompanied by the hesperides, papyrus, which is hard to describe, very green but not like grass, rather metallic. You don’t usually have cyclamen visiting, but fig leaf is very subtly present. No nutmeg in sight, but I must admit, the top notes last really long and are still noticeable.
In the dry down, only papyrus and vetiver remain to be mentioned, a really meager musk note that is not worth mentioning and even a piece of driftwood that I cannot pinpoint. This phase is the less space-filling one, the unobtrusive.
The longevity and sillage of the Ducati are graphically represented; one must see the sillage like coffee and its effect-first boom, then faint, but close to the skin, however, good % hours.
The bottle, despite the faux metal cap, is quite attractive and heavy in hand. The price, for 100ml, was still under 40,- a year ago, and I recently got it for a ridiculous 11,- smile.
Not a scent to wear when visiting the in-laws or even for a first date, but for those working at Barmer or as Vodafone shop employees, here is your fragrance.
