The Essence of Things or the Smoky Rose

Devachan is composed of Sanskrit (Deva -> light being, god) and Tibetan (Chan -> having, dwelling, place, location). It can thus be translated as "Place of the Gods" and "The place where the essence of things resides."
The term Devachan can be found in both Theosophy and Anthroposophy. In both teachings, the definitions are slightly different but can be summarized as a place above the astral worlds.
What does this have to do with the fragrance? Everything and nothing.
Devachan certainly has a slightly mystical touch if one is willing to embrace it. In any case, it is a scent that touches, envelops, and grounds you.
Upon spraying, a cocoa note briefly flashes through, but is immediately overshadowed by the rose. Those who know me are aware of my aversion to roses in fragrances. However, Uwe Manasse manages to underpin the rose with a slightly green-grassy base and envelop it with a bright incense, making the rose even appealing to me. (And that alone is already an art ;-) )
The individual notes are perfectly balanced and harmonious, supporting each other without becoming dominant.
The incense here is not too smoky, and the rose is not too cloying. Instead, an almost spherical scent emerges, which brings us above the astral worlds ;-)
Devachan is a fragrance that should suit many occasions, as it is light and bright and - for me - has something very attractive about it.
The combination of rose, sweet grass, and incense is rather unusual in this form, but it is really well executed.
I find the sillage pleasant and not too strong. The longevity in this test is currently at 7 hours, and the scent is still well perceivable.
For me, another test recommendation from the fragrance workshop.

A very nice, explanatory comment from you. I always find it exciting to see the connection between the name and the scent itself. Even though I don't like roses either, this one sounds really lovely!

Oh, that sounds really exciting. I love rose scents, but they can't be too sweet. This one is going straight on my wishlist.

I'm not really a rose lover either, but this one might appeal to me.
