L'Eau d'Hiver Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle 2003

A scent so delicate,
I fear it will break on my skin!
Like a gateway to distant days.
March sun gently melts the snow,
warming my cold cheeks.
Spring shakes off winter.
Snow roses at the edge of the forest and almond trees are budding.
Despite its initially unattainable innocence, I find L`Eau d`Hiver
to be very erotic.
As if the scent is maturing on my skin.
Just like spring, which conquers winter and hints at summer.
Like a child growing up, but there is still time.
It has something subtly distant.
A painful awareness of finitude, a longing for life!
The opening is almondy powdery with a hint of bergamot.
The beautiful iris follows with a touch of jasmine, along with angelica, which
makes the story a bit more robust.
Gradually it becomes beautifully honey-caramelly and musky soft.
Thus it lingers long (on my skin).
Dreamily harmonious, close yet very far away.
