Sunbeams Dance on My Skin

Elie Saab and I… it’s a somewhat complicated “relationship.”
He showers me with orange blossoms, feeds me with mandarins, or grates lemon peels over my desserts.

What means a racing heart, quickened pulse, or breathlessness for other ladies is for me a reason to end the repeatedly budding “affair” after a few dates.
His affection becomes overwhelming over time. The weight of his fondness brings me to my knees.
Too much Love is killing me.

Yet the bottles with their often transparent to golden blonde hairdos and their sometimes lighter or darker sun-kissed complexion are definitely worth a sin.
The fact that they always wear such lovely garments makes it almost impossible to look away.
How I craved them, only to collapse again under the overly obvious affection.
“We are definitely not made for each other,” my thoughts ended after the last fragrance that I wistfully expressed.

Until I stumbled upon “Girl of Now Lovely.”
While the “usual suspects” still mingle in the ranks of the pyramid, the surrounding elements promise hope.
Very taken by this and after intense scent impression research here and elsewhere, I decided to order a small bottle thanks to a good offer.

Here it is now.
Familiar golden crown, familiar expensive neck jewelry, and a flowing garment as if made from hardened nectar.
Cautiously, I press the spray head, knowing what has always overwhelmed me when an Elie Saab entered my life.

But here, my caution is completely unfounded.
Lovely scent notes reach my nose and my brain. My olfactory receptors and brain synapses are completely out of their minds!

Neither vast amounts of orange blossoms, mandarins, nor lemon peels sweep over me; instead, everything begins rounded and soft.
Nothing stings, nothing bites, and nothing scratches.

A marshmallow with a hint of mandarin, a well-perceptible ripe pear, and galbanum float before my face at first. A few moments later, the delicious piece already gains more depth and sweetness. I believe I also perceive frangipani and some sugared almond pieces as quite prominent.
I think the rose is here like preserved in syrup.
It doesn’t clash, isn’t demanding, and is hardly noticeable as such when you search for it under the usual scent character.

Soon, the fragrance remains in this stage.
The longevity is impressive, and what is rare for me, the sprays on the skin and the cloth are hardly distinguishable from each other.
What often came across as too harsh, fresh, or sour in the other Saab fragrances is completely absent here.

What strikes me is the warmth that the fragrance lays over my skin like a sunbeam.
Almost as if it floats there.
As if this pleasant warmth moves weightlessly amidst its golden light.

In my imagination, I see golden particles shimmering in this glow. A delicate swirling, more like a breathing.
As if billions of specks in a room move in a beam of light to a silent melody that only they can hear.

This weightlessness catches me with this fragrance up and down.

Although “Girl of Now Lovely” comes across as warm, syrupy, sweet, and gourmand for my nose, this impression remains for me even after hours.

With every spray, I experience it anew.
Then I see her again.
Sunbeams dance on my skin.

If that isn't the enchantment of the Saab's lovely Girl ;-) I actually had a few Girls in my closet, but they were all too sweet for me. This one might just top that. But how nice that you two have found each other!

I definitely won't see these sun rays dancing on me, as they call out too much for feminine skin! But the description sounds too tempting to resist a woman's neck or arm adorned with it! Classy!

So beautifully described. I also rarely get along with Elie Saab. But I've heard a lot of good things about this one.
