Mint Tea at the Beach

Oh wow, what a top note.
- Sometimes you don't need to beat around the bush. Today, I don't want to write a long introduction or tell a story about any experience. The truth is: I received this fragrance as a sample and have been able to test it several times.

What has always surprised me is the top note. Rosemary and mint are clearly in the foreground. A gentle pear joins in the background. At first, I didn't really like the top note, but I have since grown fond of it. I think this fragrance definitely has its edges and corners. Although it becomes a bit softer and sweeter over time, the slightly herbal and fresh top note never completely disappears. The mint-rosemary combo lingers on my skin.

I have to say. I might be the only one who feels this way, but the scent reminds me a bit of “Libre” by YSL. It's not a dupe, but I would categorize both perfumes in the same fragrance family. One reason for this might be that the herbaceousness seems to be much more present on my skin than for many other users who commented before me. “Girl of Now Forever,” however, comes across as a bit tamer. Not quite as scratchy and a little more feminine. I can understand, though, that the Ellie Saab scent might also come off as quite scratchy to some. I perceive that as well,

The longevity is superb. There's nothing to complain about there. However, I'm not sure if I would reach for this fragrance often if it were part of my collection. Therefore, it will probably not find a place with me. I find it very interesting and believe it has a good
recognition value.

I always find it interesting how differently fragrances are perceived. I also notice the mint note in the top notes along with the almond. For me, it's a heavy sweet scent, almost like Girl of Now, just mintier and more almondy. And I totally agree with you about the recognizability! 😊 I really like it on very cold days. I also really like Libre! 😊

Thank you for the reply. It definitely depends on skin chemistry sometimes ☺️ I would describe the scent as rather sweet, but not as extreme as La Vie est belle and the like. On my skin, the mint lasts a really long time, just like the rosemary - that probably gives it that herbal “coolness” and prevents it from smelling too warm and sweet on me. ☺️

From the way you describe it, I wouldn't "reach for" it either.

I think it's a fragrance that either enchants you right away or just doesn't click. If you love “Libre” and the like, you might find your happiness here. :-) “Mon Guerlain” probably falls into a similar category - it can also be a bit herbal and scratchy in the top notes.
