A Great Exception
With celebrity fragrances, it's a bit of a mixed bag: The namesakes are often athletes, actors, musicians, or whatever else. And they are successful and capable. At least most of the time. Well, or at least sometimes...
It's only fitting that a star should have a fragrance of their own. But oh dear: Just as some stars can neither sing nor act nor do anything meaningful, most of them also can't launch a good fragrance. Or they don't want to, since ultimately, besides the prestige, it's primarily about earning a few extra million. Who cares what kind of liquid is in the bottle? The good name should suffice for the common folk. The main thing is that it gets bought, bought, bought...
And so we have been annoyed for years by the scent clouds of amateur perfumers, because - one must give them credit - these products achieve wide distribution thanks to their name.
But beware, here comes the great exception!
I was actually skeptical that the not-so-sympathetic Elizabeth Taylor would hit my taste with her cheap plastic bottle.
But hello, what do we have here? Great class! A truly characterful and - in my opinion - also masculine fragrance for men in their more mature years. No, you don't find something like this on every corner. Despite the cheap price and poor presentation, one can clearly stand out from the mainstream.
The scent is warm, spicy, a bit woody. Typical of the 80s, or even reminiscent of the 70s. Sillage and longevity are very good. Broadly speaking, there are echoes of KL Homme or Jovan's "Sex Appeal." If you like those, you're in the right place.
As I said, in my opinion, it is also very masculine, but rather for men and not for boys. (For them, "Dieter Bohlen's supermegaawesome pimple water" is more suitable anyway.) Here, maturity is required - and in the most positive sense!
Whether it's wearable for women, as is sometimes recommended, I cannot judge. I would have my doubts...
At this point, a respectful "*THANK YOU*" to the good old Liz Taylor for leaving us such a beautiful and original fragrance.
Test recommendation!
A warm greeting from Saxony
