Hello Gorgeous!
This is just a simply gorgeous and economical scent (I might add). Ellen Tracy is a clean white musk overlaid with a soft white peach, plum and rose. I can't detect any orchid (thank goodness- not a big fan). Instead I get a gentle green note from galbanum and the beginning of a gracious serenade of jasmine and lily. Later, I can percieve just a tender touch of orris root which provides a layer of soft powdery depth. There is also a little clean/shampoo note to the drydown which I like a lot. I love aldehydes an this fragrance has a touch right in the middle which really brighten and zip up the whole composition along with a touch of lemon and osmanthus. There is that little bit of honeysuckle peaking out from behind the curtain, but not enough to overwhelm and the base delivers a bit of sandalwood to the musky drydown that leaves me feeling smooth and sexy. The more a wear this the more it reminds me of the stewed fruit and incense notes in both versions of "Feminité du Bois". It's not a dead on match, but it does bare that similarity in a couple of aspects. The base lingers lovingly with a touch of golden amber and sandalwood and an airbrush of cedar. I personally can't locate oakmoss in this fragrance, so if you love those big whopping oakmoss chypres of yore- this will probably not dazzle you. Ellen Tracy also sports a remarkably high quality and well designed bottle for the price and I love to display; this I can readily display on my dresser top with out the fear of sun exposure, because I know I can pick another on up for a song and I go through this fragrance with abandon. The soft tender peachy color of this liquid is a perfect match for the fragrance. It's a bit to heavy for the heat of the Summer, but otherwise, I would call this a 3-season fragrance for day of evening with moderate sillage, that starts out good and gets better after the first hour; well worth a try, even ok for a blind buy- IMHO.
