Okay, it took me a while to make the connection to the pipe; I was stuck on the film genre and was wondering about the friendly image and the presumably very pleasant scent ;)
Wow, it was ahead of its time in the niche! A very distinctive classic. Neither Fougère nor Chypre.
The unsweetened fruity freshness is more elegantly packaged than the aldehyde-heavy fruit fizz from Giorgio for Men. The lavender is spiced with clove and soapy. The green notes are dark and woody, with a patchouli touch. The base brings a lovely contrast. It becomes warmer (unsweetened amber), smokier (frankincense), and sharper (leather). The frankincense is beautifully full-bodied and could belong to today’s niche.
So complex!
A truly beautifully complex fragrance.
Great scent!
