Cherry Lady

I was at DM again and the two new fragrances from EG immediately caught my eye. I generally like the scents a lot, but I've recently noticed that they only work for me to a limited extent. This might be because I prefer fresh floral fragrances in the warm season, which don't overwhelm the surroundings. However, the company always releases new scents in spring, and those from the last two years were more suited for autumn and winter. This fragrance is no different. Let's see how it performs in the fall during testing.

The opening is neither fruity nor fresh/gentle. A synthetic blend of all sorts of things greets you. It's not clear what it's supposed to be. Unfortunately, it doesn't dissipate like, for example, La Rive, but lingers. Then comes a powerful dose of jasmine and peony, which have already overpowered the orange blossom and are now battling with the synthetic notes for dominance. The dry down is then vanilla and sandalwood. I didn't smell any amber, but there were some smoky notes that stubbornly persisted, which aren't really my thing. I do like sandalwood, but it doesn't come through.

The scent lasts above average and can still be detected on the skin after 12 hours. Those who like the fragrance will be pleased. I'm only moderately happy and am glad I only bought one bottle. I always like to stock up on other scents from the brand, as the DM that carries EG is not around the corner. The bottle is simple, practical, and good for the bag.

There are slight similarities to Olympea. If you're looking for dupes, you should keep searching, as there are better options out there.

In summary, the fragrance is a synthetic powerhouse where you search in vain for delicate cherry blossoms or juicy fruits. It fits better in a dollar store than in a drugstore.

You hit the nail on the head. I thought the same. The title fits the scent just like that wishy-washy song. Flat and artificial.

I immediately had that flat, endlessly boring song in my head with the title - the scent seems to be no different - except that it lasts longer than a few minutes. Good to know I can safely forget about it.
