Very helpful Review
...the first time a misfire, today a lightning start!!
Curious after my two previous commentators, I got samples of "Ambre", "Ambroient" and "Orientalissime".
My first test of the completely unknown brand "Esteban" was to be with "Ambre".
Right after spraying, a fresh/citrusy note hits my nose. Very unusual, but (thankfully) also not lasting. A good "trick" to not send the cozy factors "Amber" and "Vanilla" into the race immediately.
Well, not immediately is good... unfortunately, for me, there is hardly any change in this regard. The citrus impression is gone, but I can hardly smell any Amber and minimal Vanilla. Normally, my skin loves both components extremely, but only normally. What a shame!
Since the scent apparently ignited with Florblanca and Ergoproxy as I expect from an Amber fragrance, I won't tear the scent apart in the air, but will quickly shift this mishap to my skin ;-)
New game, new luck!

Addendum from 03.02.2013:
What was going on on 25.10.2012???? Today, the Ambre sample from Esteban fell back into my hands. I remembered my comment and thought "what a shame that the Ambre didn't work for me". Why was that? Oh well, I'll just try it again! Said and done, and today this scent ignited in such a way for me! The (Amber) hammer! The citrusy-sour opening was still there, but then Amber and Vanilla unleashed such a fragrance fireworks that I could hardly believe my nose! How finely, well-woven and harmonious they dance on my skin. Wow!
Long story short: The scent is rehabilitated, receives full marks, and I just completed the order for the EDP. That's it, you are now mine!

Hmm, I seem to be experiencing the scent like you did at first... Time to put it aside ;)

It's happened to me often too, and then comes the phrase, "What do I care about yesterday's gossip?" Thumbs up!!!

For this reason, I always test the fragrances multiple times to be absolutely sure. :)

Yes, that's true. Even on the same person, a fragrance can react differently at times. I also have to remind myself to test fragrances multiple times, and I've had similar experiences to yours occasionally.

Great comment! Now I'm curious again, because amber and vanilla - especially together - are among my favorite fragrance notes.
