Wood Mystique Estēe Lauder 2011

It is night, the sky is pitch black, and only rarely does the moon peek out from behind a cloud, casting its silvery glow over everything. I traverse a dark, densely overgrown forest, alone. My companions have long since taken the way back because this forest was too eerie for them. I push my way through the underbrush, seeing trees stretching their branches like arms; some look sick, weary of life, as they bear no leaves anymore. It smells of damp wood, of earth, of decay. Animal eyes blink at me through the branches. The sharp scent of their glands mingles with the forest smell. This forest is majestic, the atmosphere is thick; I enjoy walking this challenging path, even though I know that only a few would accompany me on this journey, as this experience would be too strong, too intense for them, and not everyone loves the forest. Hours later, I reach the edge of the woods. The scent of the trees and bushes still lingers in the air, but here flowers also grow, and I pass by raspberry bushes. The night is over; morning is coming.
