Butterfly Euphorium Brooklyn 2017

Early afternoon.
Bright leaf forest.
I struggle through the dense underbrush, nettles brushing against my bare legs.
I hardly notice the burning anymore.
In front of me, a small clearing opens up with a pond, almost completely covered by water lilies.
The water has been standing for a while.
Mosquitoes buzz through the light and dragonflies, somewhere a frog.
I stand in the shade, but I can sense the heat of the sun, which makes the small flowers glow.
The wind falls silent, absolute stillness.
Only sharp green and colorful specks, light and shadow.
And right in the middle, me.
