At first, it didn't quite reveal itself to me. Fortunately, we didn't just settle for a brief speed date, but allowed the necessary time for mutual acquaintance. This wasn't always easy, as Cuir Blanc maintains a strict regime.
If you are looking for a leather fragrance with a high cuddle factor, you might as well turn back. Cuir Blanc is characterized by a certain distance. At the beginning, you are greeted by a bright, delightful saffron note, but the fragrance begins its subtle game after just a few moments. Fusion? Not a chance. Cuir Blanc remains velvety, undeniably so. I wouldn't deny it a high degree of sweetness either. Nevertheless, I would assign Cuir Blanc to the light gray tones on a color scale because of its cool aura.
Cuir Blanc is dedicated to the reduction to the essentials. Extremely skillfully, smooth musk and iris variants are woven together with a fine, sublime thyme note. A seemingly weightless, slightly smoky hue is dominant in the heart note, while fresh, green foliage shimmers in between. And the leather that gives it its name does not push itself to the forefront but is used very distinctly.
However, the drydown, which allows for a certain reconciliation with the fragrance through its cuddly, warm tones, will be longed for in vain. Cuir Blanc remains reserved, slowly thins out, and does not want to engage in intimate closeness. For a passionate relationship, other leather fragrances may be available; Cuir Blanc wants to be a companion, not a lover. Inaccessible and beautiful.
I find it very well done. Overall. It's definitely sweet and cozy, like a fresh, sun-warmed suede, that's how I perceive it. I find it very wearable compared to other leather scents. Thank you and cheers!
