A Mossian Worldview

The Mossians loved their world. It was damp lichens, soft and wild, and the sky was a soap bubble, wide and greenly arched. They marveled at the spectacle when in the morning the false cypresses shimmered citrusy northern lights in the foam, the black spruces flickered camphor and currants across the firmament, before the cedars sweetened the soap and soon turned it a bit browner, the space out there was evidently forest. However, the Mossians were not entirely sure, as the scent of the damp lichens and the mossy oaks from the foaming soaps dominated within their greenish gleaming dome.
As evening fell and twilight spread its veil like black tea over the vault, incense stars whirled across the dark sky, all balsamic resinous crumbs. Ooohh, whispered the tiny beings, as the amber stars became sweeter and warmer and the night faded in a greenish glow.
***
Fantôme is a small company based on the coast of Washington State, run by Bree and Megan Elliott, who handcraft their fragrances in small batches. According to their own statement, they are always working to keep their wide range of scents available.
In "Ruslan," named after the hero from Pushkin's fairy tale 'Ruslan and Lyudmila', the soapy oak moss clearly dominates, through which one perceives the above-described progression like through a filter, from rather citrusy bright to woody, resinous, incense-warm, and balsamic. The spectacle in the sky of the Mossians is moderate to quiet and lasts about five to six hours.

Woody and soapy - why not. I also like it woody and berry. Now I'm just waiting for Ljudmila ;)

The scent notes reflect what seems to be in vogue in the Russian perfume world right now: unfathomable coniferous forests, untouched nature, Oud for an oriental touch, and incense for a bit of holiness. Definitely interesting, but probably more suited for hunters and men who enjoy roaming the wilderness. At least in their imagination. For me, it’s probably too much underbrush and rugged moss.

Very likable, those Moosians! And they have a friendly environment too. Can Heywood share more about the nature of the wooded space?

... I would gladly be a Moosianer here ... under a green soap sky and at night, amber stars .. ;)* .... a beautiful, fragrant little fairy tale - where you love to dive in for a bit ......

On the American Pacific coast, people read Pushkin! Who would have thought! We’re still expecting this brand to release the fragrances "Lenski" (from Eugene Onegin), "Godunov" (from Boris Godunov), and "Tomski" (from The Queen of Spades).

I like those kinds of forests, and the smell of damp lichens and mosses in them. However, I’m a bit skeptical about using a perfume with that kind of scent!

As always, described in a vivid and imaginative way. I googled the brand, and it really is absolutely charming. They even closed this month to catch up on orders. No wonder!

Very nicely described! I like soapy oak moss, but I'm afraid the fragrance notes sound more exciting than the scent itself.

That sounds green, green, rich, and fruity... It reminds me a bit of our bathroom. I wonder if there are little moss creatures living somewhere in there?
Thanks for your imagination!!!

Thank you for the very informative comment and the perspective shift where the forest becomes the universe. It probably wouldn't be entirely my thing - but the label sounds interesting.

The world of the moss people sounds spectacular. A space of forest under a heavenly soap bubble with glowing amber stars...
Your words shone brightly again...bright like the amber stars in the soapy sky.
