Stunning melancholic sweetness

I, for one, am not an iris girlie. I don’t totally reject it if I see it in a fragrance, but I don’t spring up to test each one that is newly released. And tbh, when I heard about the new Fendi line, I was excited but also taken aback by the prices. Nevertheless, I took the opportunity to try most of them when I was out with my bf for his birthday.

La Baguette is quite a simplistic beauty of just three notes: Iris, vanilla, and white leather. It’s powdery, it’s soft, it’s sweet, and it’s SO pretty. The leather + iris gives it a “cold”, lipstick vibe, but the vanilla keeps it from going too dry and dusty. The leather also adds the most beautiful smoothness and gives the scent a classy chicness. It smells / feels very expensive but also kind of melancholic and lonely in the same way Diptyque Fleur de Peau feels. Idk I’m kind of obsessed with it even though this is NOT my preferred scent profile.

For $330 / 100 ml, it does a good job at lasting on the skin and clothes, and leaves a nice little bubble around you for about 5-6 hours (with good projection for the first 2-3). Even if this isn’t your kind of fragrance, I think it’s worth a sniff. I love complex scents as much as the next person, but some days you want to smell utterly gorgeous in an effortless kind of way. And that’s exactly what La Baguette is.
