Thank you for travelling
I am fond of the company FiiLit - because I like their eco concept - and also their fragrance compositions.

The scents are very distinctive - even quirky - but not strange.
They pleasantly dance out of line.

Moreover, they assign the fragrances to specific geographical regions, which I find very exciting.

So I have already traveled with FiiLit to Amazonia, Japan, the Atlas, and now to the Cyclades - and it has always been interesting.

However, the journey to the Aegean is something for nature-loving backpack tourists.

Dressed appropriately, one wanders through the island group - under a radiant blue sky.
The woody freshness lifts the thoughts and encourages a brisk step.
One is on an exploratory tour - and the Italian strappy sandals must stay at home.
But the sturdy footwear leads to untouched, wild, primal places.
Pioneer feelings arise.

The citrus notes are cooled by neroli - and the hike does not bring on a sweat.
Wild rose bushes waft aromatically over - spiced by myrrh.
Delicate, bitter violets mix in - deepened by patchouli.

One is alone with oneself and nature, breathing calmly and deeply, observing the birds that sail silently against the blue sky.

I say: Thank you for travelling.

Homage to the Rainbow Bridge
I have already reported extensively on the French brand FiiLiT and its exemplary intention in my comment on “Saudade.” And Leimbacher has already written about the Cyclades. It should perhaps be mentioned that this island group, including Mykonos and Santorini, essentially embodies the cliché of classic Greek tourist destinations. You know, with whitewashed little houses and blue sea and sky.

But what is the deal with Irida? Well, she is the Greek goddess of the rainbow and connects both heaven and earth as well as humans and gods. She is also known as Iris, which is also the name of the rainbow-colored part of the eye. But enough of that - let’s get to the scent.

At first, it comes across as fresh-citrusy, but also somewhat dry and spicy. Irida does not reveal itself to be as clear as the air one might aim for. On the contrary, there’s something dull and herbal lingering in the background. I suspect it’s the resinous, slightly pistachio-like mastic.

If you give Irida a little time, it develops into a more woody-floral Eau de Parfum that drifts towards Hommage à l'Homme by Lalique thanks to the violet. Papyrus seems to further emphasize a fluffy woodiness. I like this much better than the bumpy start, but it still doesn’t come close to the original.

Towards the end, Irida impresses again with a dry charm along with myrrh, but unfortunately also with a somewhat timid bitter note.

All in all, this results in a scent that is almost skin-close, which neither reflects the complexity of a rainbow nor evokes idyllic Cycladic daydreams, but is absolutely okay in the middle part. As a weak consolation, one can at least say that Irida consists of 87% natural ingredients.

A Trojan Summer Horse
The Cyclades, which this fragrance is inspired by, are a group of islands in the Aegean Sea off Greece - a summer scent then? Somehow sunny, citrusy, creamy. But it also has texture and a gripping, heavier backbone. A fruity myrrh, reminiscent of old books. The papyrus in the fragrance pyramid fits perfectly for once. The scent acts as a mediator between Frapin's "L'Humaniste" and "1681" by Carthusia. Fans of the Aegean are eager to test it.

You take 22 degrees, a fine-stony sandy beach, the Greek hills & cliffs, a light sea breeze, a few bare cypress & pine trees - along with a fine book in the shade of this picturesque setting. "Cyclades" feels somewhat like that to me. Slightly oily, ethereal, piercing but unfortunately. It even reminds me a bit of olive oil or crushed macadamia nuts. Orange wood comes to mind, Mediterranean feeling is given. The fragrance doesn't quite decide whether it's a bookworm or a sun worshipper, whether it's creamy sunscreen or a sparkling citrus cocktail. An interesting scent, but it left me & my interest faster than I would have liked.

Bottle: woody & hip & environmentally friendly
Sillage & longevity: some call it moderate, some call it subtle. Just barely 4 hours.

Conclusion: a summer charmer like a good book on a Greek sandy beach. Between relaxation and tingling. Good, not overwhelming.

A lot of Cashmeran, little originality. Still very, very beautiful, cheerful, and harmonious. Clear little rose at the heart, melancholic base.

Cashmeran and Ambrox don't improve this scent. Very woody with a touch of sweetness from violet. At least it's interestingly composed.

All lab stocks of Ambroxan and Cashmeran must now be used up. Pure synthetic with citrus sprinkles. Terrible...

The most synthetic feel, yet strangely better than the competition, as a creamy, resinous citrus freshness unfolds.

I don’t know why, but I feel like someone stuck an incense stick up my nose. For me, just wild molecules.

Here’s the “Ah” under the roof! Replaceable freshness, a rosy hint, and then an undefinable afterglow in super subtle. Doesn’t bother me much.

Aside from the citrus opening, it’s not a journey to the Cyclades. You won’t find rose + violet there. It becomes creamy, spicy + unfortunately too Ambroxan.

Fresh-citrusy. Instead of rose, geranium + green + violet = dense-synthetic texture - very long-lasting. Pleasantly fresh-synthetic mix, strong sillage.

No. The artificial wood doesn't stand out here, but it has a touch of Maggi seasoning. What a pity.

Woody-fresh start ends woody-dry with noticeable myrrh. Everything's great, but I've experienced it all many times before and better.
