Portable Concept Aquate: Theme hit - after the second sniff!

In the hope of finally finding a relevant new discovery this year, I ordered the large Sorcinelli Discovery Set with all six mist and rain scents (Nebbia & Pioggia), as well as six other fragrances from the house that had long been on my wishlist.

I tested the fragrance blind, meaning I didn’t know which of the 12 samples I had under my nose.

On the blotter strip, the fragrance smelled very synthetic right from the start, reminiscent of a bathroom cleaner without citrus. Thus, the scent immediately dropped to the lower ranks in my mental ranking.

After testing other fragrances from the set, I wanted to give Nebbia Spessa the important second chance on my skin.

Et voilà! The fragrance moved (when worn on the skin), up one place every hour in my mental ranking.

Describing the scent in words is not exactly easy. However, I still want to try to convey the emotions and associations it evoked in me.

In the first five minutes after spraying it on my skin, I found the scent very unpleasant. It reminded me of a kind of cleansing foam used in the bathroom, just without the citrus note. So rather piercing, sharp, synthetic. However, it then becomes noticeably tamer.

After about 30 minutes on the skin, the fragrance developed into an increasingly beautiful olfactory experience in 30-minute intervals. The scent then remains quite linear and changes very little, which is not meant negatively.

After about 2 hours, the fragrance reaches, for my nose, the most authentic phase of what it wants to be: a mist scent with a dew drop accord:

What draws into my nose is cool, vibrating, maximally atomized, densely misty water hanging in the air, its moisture interwoven with slightly green (lichen?) undertones. I perceive it as if the finest molecules are almost flooding, celebrating a party in my nose together with fresh-cool, oxygen-rich air that lasts until the next morning.

I sprayed the fragrance around 4 PM, and it was still quite perceptible the next morning, so to speak, unchanged. Perhaps a bit flatter and no longer as vibrant, but definitely still distinctly noticeable - albeit very close to the skin. In this respect, I can confirm a sufficiently good longevity of the fragrance on my skin, with a not overly exaggerated sillage. The projection of this artistic concept fragrance is also not unpleasant and fits, in my opinion, the DNA of the scent. After all, mist is also present and visible, but it doesn’t shout at you!

The fragrance is, in my classification, absolutely unisex and wearable by all age groups. And yes, the scent is generally absolutely wearable for many occasions. Personally, I see the fragrance primarily as a casual scent, especially in spring and summer. I think it will also be a pleasant companion in early autumn, and for some, certainly also at work.

The bottle is typically very artistically designed for Filippo Sorcinelli, although one of the simpler bottles, which is also reflected in the price. To what extent the content is affected by the mist effect in the liquid due to the addition of - whatever - I cannot assess.

All in all, a very positive fragrance experience. The scent hits the theme and indeed smells as I would imagine dew drops in a misty, green environment. Even if one does not know the concept, the name, and the notes before smelling, the intended olfactory impressions definitely come to mind. A beautiful bottle, sufficiently good performance, and a price at the lower end of the Sorcinelli spectrum make the fragrance (for me) quite interesting.

In my opinion, it best captures the theme of all three Nebbia fragrances.

Cheers!
