Carnation Elixir with Great Spiciness
This is once again a scent that hardly anyone knows. Unfortunately discontinued, from the late eighties. At that time, Serge Lutens probably wasn't thinking about "Vitriol d'Oeillet," which came out years later. Perhaps he was inspired by his fragrance Donna Di Fiume.
In any case, there are garden carnations and clove spices in considerable strength, some rose and iris, and finally woods and vetiver, as well as moss.
It is a somewhat rebellious scent that may not appeal to everyone. It certainly fits my "collar size." Donna Di Fiume plays with floral-spicy, bitter, and cool elegance; initially a bit "medicinal," it reveals itself to be a full-blooded floral-spice-wood-moss elixir that packs a punch. It is not subtle. Nor is it "screaming," but its good longevity and sillage can still be filling in an average living room!
Classy with far-reaching effects!
