Delightful non-chypre

This perfume has very little to do with chypres, but it sure smells nice. There are neither moss nor any resins in the base notes, but there are also no other ingredients replicating their typical chypre effect. There is bergamot in the top notes, sure, but it is not particularly dominant,. The top is instead characterised by a nice, crisp neroli. But soon the neroli is overwhelmed by the main player in this perfume: a juicy-peachy, pleasantly shampoo-like osmanthus. It is not too sweet, so as to stay refreshing, and plays beautifully with the base of vaguely herbal patchouli and some fluffy musks. Describing musk notes is always difficult for me, but these hover between detergent-sanitised and sweaty/raunchy. An effect of clean fur. Overall, Chypress is a lovely fruity-floral perfume. I impulse-bought it because it was heavily discounted, but with time I've grown to appreciate its youthful yet timeless appeal more and more, and am wearing it a lot this summer.
