Who would want to go to such an island?

Not something you necessarily have to know about :-)

I don't really think it suits me.

:-D They only seem to like 'tax evaders' on their island... 'Heartless' and 'all sorts of things' are fantastic descriptions for these meaningless perfumes!

“L'Humaniste” is the only one I know from the brand, and I didn't find it that impressive (though acceptable).

If the scents I've recently smelled are a rough representation of the house's DNA, then you've definitely found the most beautiful one with L'Humanist, in my opinion.

Off to Ireland, where you'll find the real musk fougères!!!

...the Isle of Man islanders look at this reading even sweeter and more sour than usual ;)

The brand really isn't worth your money.

Out of the 6 tested, I actually found L'Humanist to be the nicest. I don't need to have it, but I can totally see why it's so popular. (And I often like juniper and gin notes in fragrances anyway.)

I think I'll get off at the next island instead.

I would probably rate it similarly. Undifferentiated and sweeteners don't work for me either.

And for that, we're reading "Sad Islanders" by Nigel Barley.

The 170 pages will surely carry us wonderfully through the sweet-sour whispering musk finish! ;)

Very undifferentiated "jack-of-all-trades" scent, with the citrus and musk notes being the most recognizable. A bunch of poorly utilized synthetics with a bit of spice and quite a bit of sweetness. In the background, there's some undefinable wood. What comes out isn't terrible, but it's surprisingly loveless. The long-lasting musk-heavy dry down also has that sweet-sour note that bothered me with Bois Blanc. If this is supposed to be the brand's DNA, it desperately needs a revamp.
