Heart: Aventus - but with little to no shaving lotion
Base: Aventus - in brown leather and musk
The story of this boxer is quickly told: An interpretation of Aventus, a clear case. A good one, I think. More cohesive than the original, less friction. Most will prefer the original, even if the price of the Frapin may tempt some. Longevity and sillage are on par with the original, so caution is advised when dosing. Perhaps the Frapin is the solution for those who find Aventus too light - however that may happen.
Another interpretation of Aventus. And with each additional one, it becomes more difficult for connoisseurs to deny Aventus its already considerable historical significance in perfumery. Its impact is obvious: only a very few fragrances have been copied so often and so accurately. Cool Water is another one. And indirectly Green Irish Tweed. The Creeds have simply mastered the art. It's just a shame that we will probably never know which perfumer, or which perfumeress, is behind this scent.
The top notes are like Aventus... I agree with you! But after that, it falls apart for me ;-) After the drydown, it smells completely different! Unfortunately, worse! Alternative to Aventus? No! Check!
