Côte d'Azur in the Reading Garden

A walk to the lending library suddenly turned into a short vacation on the Côte d'Azur.
"Reading material" is a must, and after I stocked up, I settled into the little "reading garden" at the back of the city library.
Until five or six years ago, this part of the property consisted only of an unsightly concrete path and a wild overgrown slope. Despite the two large glass doors, no one was drawn there.
Then a plant-loving retiree claimed this piece of land as her garden: since then, it has become a quiet spot in the urban hustle and bustle.
Climbing plants have taken root on the slope, kitchen herbs and other greenery delicately scent the air. Large pots and small flower pots house blooming beings, and in a sheltered corner, bamboo and some orchids reside in their pots.
Tables and chairs invite you to linger; students often sit there surrounded by their papers.
Many people who regularly read the daily newspapers and other printed materials - even the "yellow press" - have also found their place in this beautiful idyll.
Surprisingly, the ubiquitous mobile phone ban is even observed there!
(So far, I haven't heard of any emergency medical interventions due to withdrawal symptoms.)

As is well known, I am quite "communicative" (you could also call it talkative), and so I met a woman with whom I have spent quite some time chatting there. We are always happy to see each other: because we have time among all the books and plants.
And even if we only talk about the "new releases" in both areas.

I was quite astonished when she beckoned me over and said she had been waiting for me because she wanted to show me something. Hm! What could it be?
From her summer skirt pocket, she pulled out a familiar little bottle: a friend had gifted her Frau Tonis Parfum "N° 44 Feige" in the new version.
Since we were also discussing Parfumo and the underlying passion for fragrances, she was proud of this gift and generously sprayed it on me.

Oh, what a view opened up to me in our little reading garden: vast blue sea, sunshine, shadow plays of many fingered fig leaves on well-kept paths, lots of greenery, and magnificent cedars!
After my own fig plant had to be removed due to a lack of a larger pot (where would it have fit on the balcony?), I have only experienced this invigorating green in our Botanical Garden.
There, fig bushes stand in walled roundels, surrounded by a wooden bench.
Thus, the sensual experience of sun, shade, leaf green, and fruits also exists in Berlin-Dahlem: lush and with the soothing clicking of the sprinklers in the background.
While the green, unripe fruit still smells fresher and more tart than the one that invites you to bite into it.
Because this, along with the fig leaves and other foliage, forms the basis of this fragrant painting from the south.
The woody aroma of the sun-drenched cedars fits perfectly; a fruity green spice surrounds me.
A little bit of tonka bean clouds my summer joy: I would be happier without it!
Because even now, after several hours, it feels like an uninvited guest - what a shame!
This wonderful green by the Mediterranean would be (in my feeling) a delightful companion through a southern summer day without this aroma.

However, this is a very personal sensation: tonka beans and I are rarely "best buddies." So I can imagine that this "N° 44" from Frau Tonis Parfum will find many admirers.
Those who enjoy a summery spiciness with green freshness can look forward to a loyal companion.
Because for me, the scent development does not happen at a breakneck speed; therefore, the longevity is also appropriate for a charming summer friend.

Although I will leave it at this unique and extensive scent bath in Frau Tonis Fig, I am still glad to have made such a friendly and buoyant acquaintance.
This summery creation is definitely a recommendation for tonka bean lovers.
This short trip of scent is highly recommended!

Frau Tonis No.44 "Fig" has a lovely green scent reminiscent of freshly broken fig branches and crushed leaves of the tree. The aromatic notes, slightly leaning towards sweetness, remind me of unripe fruits. I have a large fig tree in my garden, so I'm familiar with this scent profile. It's the green unripe figs that enhance the fragrance. Ripe figs have a sweeter aroma. It's a fantastic companion for the warmer months. Uplifting, fresh, and simply delicious!

It must smell really nice. I really like fig and fig leaves in perfumes. Definitely a lovely experience in the library!

A very pleasant comment to read with highly likable impressions at the start. Like most Tonis, the fig is a 1:1 copy of the eponymous Lehmann (just packaged differently and much more expensive). I tested the L-original and found it to be a rather weak fig, too soft-sweet. Although I usually get along well with tonka.

How nice for you to be reminded of your fig tree. I’m not familiar with fig trees, but I’ve tried fig-scented perfumes, and none of them appealed to me.
