Pure Grace's Tired Working Mother
Carriere is indistinguishable from Philosphy's Pure Grace,IMHO. However, to be fair, I should say that Carriere pre-dates Pure Grace. Carriere also very closely resembles the reformulated Gendarme for Men, I substitute one for the other and find them totally interchangeable, although DH says he prefers Carriere. I can easily summarize Carriere as the ideal daytime all season, or at least a solid Spring and Summer office scent for the professional woman in the conservative work environment of a Laboratory, Dental Office, Personal trainers or Document Control Center. This is always my first recommendation when female friends ask me for a recommendation for a light clean, low sillage fragrance for a job interview, etc. because it is really just a wispy essence of freshness, that won't trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals, make hiring decisions that one might encounter. Carriere is a skin scent with about 2 inches (50.8 mm) of sillage off the skin and really last from 3-4 hours in that state. It is a delicate soapy citrus with a heart of lavender and bergamot. I can't really differentiate the other notes, but the use of well blended high quality ingredients makes this my preference over Philosophy's Pure Grace, if I have to choose between the two. Sadly, I grew bored of this whole concept in fragrances after about 48 hours and now I can't even really be bothered to wear this fragrance to the grocery store. Along with its simplistic frosted bottle design bearing the fantastically unoriginal Fleur-de-Lis and its unwavering dedication to mediocrity, Carriere goes in my completely-neutral-file.
