If I were to get extremely clever now, I could casually mention that there is actually no magenta-colored tanzanite, because the highly sought-after tanzanites are definitely blue.
A zoisite, as these gemstones are called, in pink or red is known as thulite. Just as a brown polar bear is not a polar bear (unless it has rolled in mud or is a hybrid), but rather a brown bear.
And so the magenta marbled bottle suggests more or less: this Eau de Parfum has a rather feminine touch and could certainly be sweetly inclined. And that is exactly how it is - fortunately not in a squeaky, candy-like or floral sweetness, but like a strong, spicy coffee with fine roasting aromas and one or two heaping teaspoons of sugar.
On top of that, a tiny pinch of cinnamon, a lot of tonka bean, and delicately noticeable vanilla that becomes apparent towards the end. Likewise, in the drydown, the tobacco note emerges a bit more intensely. This gives the magenta tanzanite a warm, dry yet not overly powdery character with an intended but not exaggerated cuddly aspect.
The longevity is okay along with the sillage - however, the scent development remains in a rather linear range. And it is exactly on these points that one might expect a bit more considering the price.
I think if one were to describe it prominently in a nutshell, it is a kind of Tobacco Vanille with a decent shot of coffee and a slightly contradictory bottle and name.
Great description of the scent, it smells just like that! Unfortunately, it's pretty boring for me. Neither here nor there, doesn't hurt anyone. But it doesn't excite me at all.
...and if you shave a polar bear, it even becomes a black bear (but I wouldn't recommend the shaving). I prefer my coffee with very little sugar and without tonka-vanilla; otherwise, it quickly tastes like Starbucks...
I adore the scent, and it would have been mine by now if it weren't for the poor longevity and sillage. The fragrance is irresistible but too weak... Still, it's been on my wishlist for a long time; I just haven't bought it for the reasons mentioned above.
I tend to really like this scent direction. But if I had to choose, I would prefer Tobacco Vanille. It's super cozy, probably a bit more masculine, and at least somewhat cheaper. Not by much, though!.. ;)
It expresses exactly what I feel: Thank you for that!
