A masculine perfume that's embarrassed about being gourmand
Spicy leather with fly trap overtones. I can almost feel the noxious glue sticking to my fingers when I close my eyes. Very aggressive and territorial. Feels like a wasp nest buzzing in my head when I get too close to it.
Takes up its space. Fills the room – sweet, almost gooey. Lures you in. By the time you notice something is wrong – it's already too late. You're deep in the overwhelming inner cloud and about 30 seconds away from a headache.
I can discern cinnamon, lavender and (somewhat fainter) sage if I actively try to sniff them out while looking at the note list, but if I stop concentrating on them (or accidentally get too close) – I'm a fly again, wriggling helplessly in a glue trap.
It does get softer as time goes on, but only to an extent. It's still super sweet and aggressive. Vanilla, spices and acrid leather. Too much of it. Like wind blowing the smoke from a fire directly into your face. It doesn't necessarily smell bad – it's honestly hard to discern any smells at all while the smoke painfully drills into the tissues of your nose.
It takes about ~3 hours to fizzle out to a point where the cloud is only visible within your personal space. Anyone an arm's length away from you should be safe at that point. You? Well... There's at least ~3 more hours to go until it settles on skin and loses most of the leather.
On the drydown (about ~2,5 hours more) the main star of the show is a creamy vanilla and something else nondescript, but decidedly gourmand. Painfully masculine. Hard to describe. Reminded me of a coworker I've had in my youth – a sensitive guy who was really into poetry and desserts, but also felt really insecure and emasculated because of that. So he constantly lashed out and was pushy and aggressive with everyone to establish perceived dominance. Not a good look and not a good flavor profile.
