A More Mature Flanker
In contrast to other SWY fragrances, the Parfum flanker doesn't exactly stand out in a particular way. But that does not make it bad.
For the opening, SWY Parfum opts for a spicy, peppery blast, which is nicely aided by the Elemi resin that adds to that spiciness, but it also smoothens it out more, giving it a slightly lemony and balsamic scent. As things develop, some cinnamon joins the scene, as well as a small dose of lavender. But it's really once the fragrance brings out its base notes that I properly enjoy it. The classic SWY vanilla DNA sweetens things up, not too much, and it creates a very nice balance with the leather note, which I love. The leather is not too strong, though, so you'll either like that if you're not a huge leather fan, or you won't like it if you prefer a more in-your-face leather blast, as I do. Nevertheless, it's pleasing and a little soothing. There's also some hints of woodiness in the background, but I don't get much. Overall, this feels more mature than other flankers from the line, which also makes it automatically a little bit less 'unique' or 'exciting' than others from the line.
Longevity-wise, I'm not too impressed. The fragrance held on for about 7 hours, settling quite substantially by the 3-4 hour-mark. The leather note, along with a bit of vanilla sweetness, is pretty much everything I get from that point until it completely disappears from my skin. But it's projection that really disappointed me. For the first half an hour to maybe an hour, I get pretty decent projection; maybe around a feet and a half to two. But afterwards, I asked some friends if they could feel the fragrance and they really had to get very close to me to catch it. So personally, I'd confidently go for 5+ sprays.
Given its more mature and subtle nature, SWY Parfum makes for a pretty nice go-to fragrance for dressed-up events. But it's not THAT mature and sophisticated that you'd be limited only to more formal gatherings; not at all. You can wear this in a variety of situations, and the only limitation would be the weather, where autumn and winter are the clear suitable seasons.
All things considered, I really like SWY Parfum, but I am not too sure I want to buy a full bottle of it. Its projection just didn't really do that great on my skin, so I guess I'll postpone buying it in full. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't buy it either. Although I highly recommend trying out Emporio Armani - Stronger With You Absolutely and Emporio Armani - Stronger With You Leather , which feel like if you'd combine them, you'd get Emporio Armani - Stronger With You Parfum , I do think that the Parfum flanker will find its success, and I do like how it now appeals to a more mature audience, unlike other flankers which seem a tad more playful and youth-targeted with their intensive dose of sweetness. It's definitely worth trying out.
