The black dahlia is one of my favorites, so I was curious about Dahlia Divin. And I must say, Divin also has favorite qualities.
How fitting that Alicia Keys is the face of this fragrance, because at the first spray, "Fallin`" immediately comes to mind - one of my favorite songs. Highly recommended to listen to while wearing this scent:
I keep on fallin' in In love with you Sometimes I love you Sometimes you make me blue Sometimes I feel good At times I feel used Lovin' you darlin' Makes me so confused
I keep on fallin' in and out Of love with you I never loved someone The way that I loved you
Oh, oh, oh Never felt this way How do you give me so much pleasure And cause me so much pain Just when I think I've taken more than would a fool I start fallin' back in love with you
And I too fall into this sensual scent, like into a soft luxurious feather bed.
It is smoothly sweet, and also somewhat melancholic, like this confusing love that hovers between hope and fear, which Alicia sings about. Who doesn’t know these feelings?
Yet Divin gives hope for a good ending, as it feels like a warm comforting embrace.
After many doubts, everything turns out well - and one feels safe. This secure, sheltered feeling is also conveyed by the fragrance.
The mirabelle is deliciously sweet, and with the white flowers, the sun rises. The jasmine is also bright and elegant, emphasized by juicy vetiver. Patchouli adds sensuality, and sandalwood makes Divin round and radiant.
The scent has something of "arriving" after a long journey - and it may be an emotional journey.
I press the repeat button and let myself fall into "Fallin`" once more.
