Insolence Eau Glacée Guerlain 2009

This was a blind buy based on Sherapop and Missk's reviews. I am actually fan of the original Insolence, but would never wear during the day. Eau Glacée is, IMHO, recognizeable as Insolence, but a lot simpler, quieter and more wearable. The candied violets are replaced by slightly frosted but still fragrant late autumn violets (our were still blooming in October).

On me, the scent seems to sit quite close to the skin. Also its longevity seems a lot poorer than big sister Insolence's, which would still be detectable after 12 hours on my skin. This was a slight let-down but overall this is a nice violet perfume that is suitable for work or other settings where you wouldn't want your perfume to roar across the floor. Not a masterpiece like the original, but I agree with Sherapop: a lot more wearable. A little too fresh and cool for this season when everything is gradually getting covered in snow but pretty, and I didn't have to break my bank for this either. And the bottle is cute and not nearly as awkward to use as I would have thought.
