My first encounter with this fragrance was love at first sniff. It was February in Barcelona, a fantastic time for vanilla perfumes. But then I didn’t like the longevity, it literally left my hand within two hours.It was a disappointment.
However, a few years later, I couldn’t resist trying it again when I saw it in Vienna, because I love vanilla. I was amazed that it lasted all day on my hand. I decided to buy one bottle.
Spiritueuse Double Vanilla is absolutely divine, natural, rich, boozy, smoky vanilla perfection.
The rum in the opening is wonderful, perfectly blended with vanilla and benzoin.
The drydown is vanilla with some smoke and cedar.
Throughout the duration of the perfume, vanilla is dominant, so natural and pleasant. This is not a gourmand vanilla, but it touches a bit of a dessert atmosphere.
Also this is not a sugary vanilla, it’s clean, elegant, smoky with a little touch of sweetness.
Longevity is good for over 12 hours but the projection is not strong, it is very moderate.
