The End of the World

Sometimes it takes me a little longer to get it. Haas has dedicated most of his fragrances to the Schwetzingen Palace Garden or was inspired by it. The palace garden is truly the best thing about Schwetzingen. In this garden, there is a perspective. An installation from the 18th century that creates the illusion of a wide view into a (painted) landscape near Heidelberg. This perspective is called "The End of the World." In French, it's: "La Fin du Monde."

Haas has sold his perfumeries. Under new management, however, the Haas fragrances are still being offered. Since you can no longer get samples, one of the employees advised me to always go in whenever I pass by and get sprayed for decision-making help. I did that today. I felt a bit silly, because after being sprayed, I always smell the sprayed spot and become quite the nose. It must look ridiculous; the saleswoman looked at me strangely and probably thought: "and when is she leaving now? So I can continue drinking my coffee."

I went after the top note, which surprisingly struck me as quite bitter this time. That must have been the bitter almond. Then the rose bloomed quite strongly and was accompanied by heliotrope. I found that quite pleasant. When I got home after a short bike ride, family tester Q was in the kitchen, and I immediately held my sprayed wrist under her nose. She said: "I don't like that, it smells like when you walk into Douglas." She probably saw that I considered that a pretty devastating judgment. Haas hasn't reinvented the perfume either. Rose + Heliotrope smells good, but not innovative, probably not noble and expensive, but a bit mainstream.

In the base, the rose weakens, and the scent becomes more gourmand. The projection diminishes a bit. The scent lasts about seven hours on me.

The perfume is more suitable for women. You can try it out if you happen to be in Schwetzingen, for example, to visit the palace garden. Haas No.3 probably works in every season and certainly won't be bothersome at work. I probably won't buy it. However, I would like to have some Haas and will get sprayed again soon.

Oh my goodness: as someone from Schwetzingen, I have to check this out: a patient was wearing it, and I thought it surely wasn't available anymore...

Sounds exciting - so I'm not really into No. 3, but I love the Haas fragrances and that they’re dedicated to the Schwetzingen Palace Gardens. I like it, and your comment too!

In general, I would much prefer the statement "You smell like when you walk into Douglas" over "Did you just clean out the stable?" :))
